EzExpense Pro: What I Learned and What’s Next
by Skylar Menks - Sep 3, 2026
With the first iteration of EzExpense Pro wrapping up, I’m taking this milestone not only as a finish line, but as an opportunity to reflect. Every project brings lessons, and this one reinforced the importance of testing real-world workflows and staying flexible as requirements evolve.
Throughout the project, our team gained valuable insight into where expense management processes can be simplified, where automation can reduce friction, and where clearer visibility can support better decision-making. These learnings helped shape EzExpense Pro into a more practical and thoughtful solution.
The project also gave us insights into how we can continue improving. Better onboarding, more streamlined configuration, and continued feedback from users will all play a role in how EzExpense Pro evolves from here.
The conclusion of this first iteration is an achievement, but it is also the beginning of the next phase: applying what we’ve learned to make EzExpense Pro even stronger. From a project management standpoint, I valued how collaborative our team was for this project. Everyone pitched in for requirements gathering as well as testing, and I think that made EzExpense a better product.
As we move into requirements gathering for the second iteration of EzExpense Pro, my aim is to maintain this collaborative mindset while also rising to the challenge of continuous improvement.
